CHATHAM, M.A. - After nearly four hours, the Brewster Whitecaps fell to the Chatham Anglers.
This game was not shy of big numbers. The game lasted three hours and 40 minutes, there were a combined 25 total hits and 17 runs scored. The Anglers of Chatham outscored the Whitecaps 11-6, to take down the East Division champions.
The Anglers jumped on the board first in the bottom of the second, the Whitecaps answered right back with a Porter Brown (TCU) home run.
With the game tied at one, the Anglers put up a four-spot in the bottom of the third. The Anglers put up another run in the next inning, to make the score 6-1.
The Whitecaps cut into that lead, making it 6-3 in the top of the sixth. The Anglers Offense couldn't be stopped, as they put up two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The Anglers would end up with eleven runs on the night, with the Whitecaps only scoring six.
Tyler Dellerman (Charleston) and Porter Brown (TCU) both recorded two hits on the day.
The Whitecaps went through five pitchers on the day; Donovan Burke (James Madison), Brennan Oxford (Wake Forest), Dylan Simmons (Florida State), John Mikolaicyk (Hofstra), and Dale Stanavich (Rutgers).
The Whitecaps now (22-11-3) will play their final game of the regular season tomorrow at home, against Orleans at 4 p.m.
