Beau Jordan delivered a walk-off RBI single into left field in the ninth inning to lift the Whitecaps over the Mariners on Friday afternoon in Brewster. The Caps improve to 8-5 with the victory. Konnor Pilkinton fired five innings of one-run ball and earned the win for the Whitecaps. The game remained scoreless through the first three innings, as Pilkington and Hunter Williams were locked-in. The Mariners opened the scoring in the top of the fourth inning as Max Burt ripped an RBI liner to left field to score Cal Raleigh and give Harwich the 1-0 lead. The Whitecaps struck back in the bottom of the fifth as Ryan Gridley ripped an RBI single to left to score Beau Jordan and tie the game at 1-1. Harwich regained a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh, yet the Whitecaps struck back in the bottom of the eight as Logan Warmoth ripped a double to deep left field, and Brent Rooker reached on an error, scoring Warmoth and making it a 2-2 game. The Whitecaps opened the ninth inning with a single from Ryan Noda. Bryce Jordan pinch-hit for Kel Johnson and placed a perfect bunt up the third base line to advance Noda to third after he stole second. Harwich went with a five-man infield, yet Beau Jordan then brought home the game-winning run with a single to left field to plate the winning run as the Whitecaps walked-off with the 3-2 victory. Tyler Zuber tossed two scoreless innings in relief and picked up the win for the Whitecaps. The Caps return to action tomorrow night, as they travel to Chatham to face the Anglers at 7 p.m. Comments are closed.
